Newtown Gaels Shine In Leinster
The current u13 Newtown Gaels team pictured below featured at the Division 2 semi and Cup finals of Leinster GAA Meath-Kildare Cross County Summer League.
Respectively they achieved a good win over historically tough opponents St. Edwards and performed very strongly in the 2nd half of final against Balyna to gain great respect for themselves on the day.
Well done to all

u13 Bord na nÓg - Div. 3 Semi-Final
Newtown Gaels 8-7 (31) : Ballymore Eustace 7-4 (25)
On a late Autumn day, early in October, the temperature was high, partly brought by a cloudless hot sunny morning; greatly brought by a good 'aul gaelic football ding dong between two sides hungry to make the Division Final.
In tribute to Ballymore Eustace, having just left St. Farnan's two weeks ago on the back of a heavy defeat, on this day they brought with them a well learned panel with greater confidence, stronger football, increased competitiveness on the field and on the scoreboard.
In tribute to Newtown Gaels- fighting back very well and quickly, following a fast start from Ballymore, by reintroducing the slick, fast, supportive and accurate football that has served them so well in this Autumn campaign- they edged in front midway through the first half. Applauding the determination from Ballymore for sticking and staying close from there on in, the greatest strength on display this day from The Gaels was their own determination to continuously stay out in front, quickly answering every question posed upon them, their very own determination to achieve the only result these boys aimed at taking away from St. Farnan's and that was a semi-final victory!
Lads- be sure to bring this very same determination to the upcoming Bord na nÓg Div. 3 Final. From the first whistle .....to the last!
Go on the Gaels! ....
Aaron Manders; Adam Ewing; Alex Kehoe; Cathal McKennedy; Cian Byrne; Cian Cosgrave; Cian Tucker; Darragh Swords; DJ Percival; Edas Bodindorfas; Eddie Gillespie; Fionn Ennis; Gavin Condron; James Keely; Joe Barrett; Josh McCarthy; Kevin Hannon; Roan Whyte; Ruairí Hanlon; Ryan Burke; Seán Kirwan; Sean Naughton; Thom Graham.

Celbridge 2-03 : Caragh 7-09
On a fine bright evening out in Celbridge it was only the Autumn dark night closing in quickly and the little nip in the air that might take one's attention from the Caragh boys performance on the pitch.
Another excellent Caragh performance in this division 4 encounter against a typically well drilled and competitive Celbridge team.
The greatest positive to be taken from a Caragh point of view.....
...although there were very good displays of closing-down the opponent; strong and hard, fair and accurate tackling; coming away with the tackled or breaking ball; fine link up play with hands and feet, consistent and accurate scoring...
....was that these Caragh boys can only get better!
Well done to our Caragh 12s ...
Aaron Manders; Adam Gordon; Alex Kehoe; Callum Howley; Cian Tucker; Cillian Cassidy; Fionnan Manders; Josh McCarthy; Jude Harman; Luke Stafford; Mark Wallace; Nathan Yap; Sean Naughton.

Caragh 5-09 : St. Kevin's 2-09
On a dull, wet but thankfully light rainy afternoon in Prosperous, Caragh took on their arch rivals St. Kevin's at the mighty competitive 12s age level.
Bragging rights were up for grabs over the coming days- in Scoil an Linbh Íosa; across the townlands, and who knows where else?!
In a tightly contested affair, Caragh came out on top on this occasion with some fine teamwork throughout the park- strong determined defending and tackling quick accurate passing to the front; the back; the sides and diagnally; all topped off with the necessary accurate scoring from their limited chances.
Although we want to congratulate the Caragh 12s!

...there is one person who deserves as much praise on this day- and that is the referee- Damien Reilly who kindly donated his match fee to the Caragh GFC - David Hayes u14s 7-a-side Memorial Tournament to be held on 17th September.
From all at Caragh GFC- thank you Damien.
